Greece at the 1st World Championship Tae Kwon Do & Karate Deaf

Our missions for the 1st World Championships tae Kwon Do & Karate Deaf, which will be held from November 18 to 25, 2021, have arrived in Tehran. Accompanied by the Olympic champion Stavros Renieris, our athletes, after their coaches, traveled and reached Iran to participate in the World Championships.

Maria Karpathaki Federal Coach of Tae Kwon Do told us: "With two great athletes in men we will participate in the World Championship Tae Kwon Do Deaf & Hard of Hearing. After two difficult years due to the Covid pandemic, it's time to fight, giving our best, with the aim of claiming a place on the podium!"

On the other hand, the Federal Coach Karate Kostas Pappas, told us: "This championship entered the program at the last minute. We have not stopped working at all and I believe that we can achieve some discrimination. It may affect us a little that we are missing matches but on the other hand it is also an opportunity to see where we are in the run-up to the Olympic Games for the Deaf in May. Thank you all for the messages and positive energy. Let's be sure that we will give it all in the tasami for the best possible result"

In Tae Kwon Do will compete the Olympic champion Pavlos Liotsos and Stergios Bendoulis, while in karate Nikos and Sifia Moutsokou will compete.

Special thanks to the newspaper amarysia.gr and especially to the publisher Christos Zagklis for undertaking the clothing of the Greek mission in the form of sponsorship.
