Photo exhibition 'From Ifitos to Coubertin' in Ancient Olympia

Visitors who will be at the Town Hall of Ancient Olympia will have a unique opportunity to see through Antonis Natsios' photographic material the entire Modern Olympic History. Opening hours will be 9:00-14:00 and 17:00-21:00.

The exhibition is entitled "FROM IFITO TO COUBERTIN" and consists of 40 surfaces measuring 1.20X1.50 each, which are placed on tripod-wooden easels. Each surface presents an Olympiad or a separate Olympic theme. Modern Olympic History is presented in a comprehensive, concise and meaningful way, so that visitors can learn about Olympic History briefly, comprehensively and comprehensively. Each surface contains selected photographic material and short historical texts.

At the same time, in an area near the exhibition, on Monday and Tuesday there will be a musician with cello, who will perform the Hymn to Apollo, the Hymn to Joy (from Beethoven's 5th symphony), as well as other selected musical works. It is noted that the Hymn to Apollo was discovered in 1893 in Delphi by the French School of Archaeology and was presented for the first time at the opening of the Congress of Coubertin in Paris on 16-06-1894, with music by Gabriel Fauré. This historical detail, as well as the fact that the Olympic Light will head to Paris, the City of Lights, led us to choose the presence of the musician.
