The consequences of the pandemic Covid-19 worldwide have seriously affected the International Olympic Academy’s operation and the implementation of its educational activities. However, the IOA, in order to preserve the perpetual relation and constructive collaboration it has built with the National Olympic Academies and the National Olympic Committees, as well as different educational institutions worldwide during the last 60 years, has decided to organise its annual International Sessions and Seminars through an online platform.In this respect, the IOA activities originally being planned to take place in Olympia, will eventually take the form of online interactive Sessions in September 2020. It will certainly be a different ‘journey’, given the new context we are all called to adjust ourselves to, and the IOA team will make every effort to realise this endeavor in the most effective way. . .
It is undeniable that these online Sessions would certainly not substitute the unique experience of Olympia; however, they can still be a point of reference for the sharing of knowledge and an insight on issues of Olympic Education. The extraordinary circumstances we have been experiencing and the challenges we have to confront are unique. This new reality surely requires much prudence and cooperation on the part of all of us but the IOA is determined to handle the situation the best way possible.
