The Olympic Flame that was lit yesterday in Olympia was delivered to Beijing!

The journey to Beijing began the Olympic Flame for the Winter Olympic Games that was lit in Ancient Olympia on Monday, October 18th.
The Flame was delivered by the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Spyros Capralos, to the representative of the Organizing Committee, Vice President Yau Zaiqing, to travel to the Chinese capital by air.
The Sacred Light of Olympism was brought to the Panathenaic Stadium by the Olympic champion Evi Moraitidou, the Chinese Olympic champion Li Nina and the altar was lit by the ski champion Paraskevi Ladopoulou.
The Olympic Flame was delivered to the President of the NAIS by the High Priestess Xanthi Georgiou while the dance of the Priestesses was inspired by the Choreographer Artemis Ignatiou in a musical composition by Yannis Psimadas. The hymns were performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and the responsibility for the ceremony was the President of the Olympic Preparation Committee of the EGO Thanasis Vassiliadis and the Master of Ceremonies was Kostas Pantazis.
