The declaration of the Olympic Truce was signed in Ancient Olympia

On the eve of the Last Lighting of the Olympic Flame for the Olympic Winter Games "Beijing 2022", the Mayors of Ancient Olympia George Georgiopoulos, Ilida Giannis Lyberis and Sparta Petros Doukas gathered in Olympia to sign the declaration of the Olympic Truce, highlighting once again the role of the Olympic Games as a symbol of peace and unity. The statement was co-signed by the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, as well as other prominent personalities, such as the President of the EGTC and member of the IOC Spyros Capralos, the President of the International Olympic Academy Isidoros Kouvelos, the former Prime Minister and President of the International Olympic Truce Centre George Papandreou, the former Minister Fanis Petralia, the First Vice-President of the EGOC Stelios Angeloudis and the General Secretary Manolis Kolymbadis.
