The Founder of Special Olympics Hellas, Andreas Potamianos, is gone.

With love, respect and deep gratitude, the large family of Special Olympics Hellas today says goodbye to Andreas Potamianos, Its Founder and Honorary President.

The man, driven by his humanitarian feelings, worked with faith, perseverance and love to integrate Greece into the global Movement of @Special Olympics, sport for people with intellectual disabilities, giving hope, joy and meaning to the lives of thousands of people and their families.

Throughout the 3 decades of operation of Special Olympics Hellas, Andreas Potamianos embodied in the most authentic way the noble ideals of the Movement and inspired thousands of people to join as volunteers in his ranks.

The Board of Directors, athletes and their families, coaches, volunteers and friends of the Special Olympics say goodbye to Andreas Potamianos. With the assurance that his example will always inspire, motivate and encourage the creation of an inclusive and discriminatory society, which integrates people with intellectual disabilities within it, in conditions of respect and dignity.
