The Summer Olympics for the Deaf postponed for 2022!

The 2021 Summer Deaflympics Plural Committee received the ICSD Letter on the safety and health of deaf athletes, teams, families, organizations, volunteers and spectators from around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ICSD proposes to postpone the 2021 Summer Deaflympics to 2022. Understanding the reasons and accepting the ICSD's request, it was decided that the event should take place between 01 and 15 May 2022 in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. The decision to postpone it is due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As vaccination around the world varies significantly between one country and another, the measure seeks to guarantee longer time for immunisation of the world's population.
