The International Olympic Academy (IOA) is pleased to announce that M/MARITIME, a company endorsing Greek tradition in the maritime industry, has become its Proud Sponsor, two years prior to the Summer Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokyo, Japan. M/MARITIME embraces the initiatives of the International Olympic Academy for the expansion and diffusion of Olympism and materially supports the activities of the International Olympic Academy with educational character by sponsoring exclusively for the next two Academic years, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, the Master’s Degree Program, “MSc in Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events”, a unique international post-graduate program, organized by the University of Peloponnese in collaboration with the IOA, at its premises in Ancient Olympia.

The strong ties of M/MARITIME with Japan’s shipbuilding industry, a leading industry in the country and in the whole world, offer a unique opportunity for the revitalization of Olympism in Japan, a country with long Olympic history, through a series of actions to be organized by M/MARITIME in light of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. On the occasion of the upcoming Summer Olympic Games, M/MARITIME will attempt to set forth that Olympism, as a way of life, lies also in the fundamentals of the international maritime industry, expressing its determination to continue the development of the longstanding and solid shipbuilding and marine relationships between Greece and Japan at this momentous occasion, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
