The Olympic Flame continued its journey, on the fifth day of the Torch relay. On Wednesday, April 27, at 17.00 the Flame will be handed over to the Brazilian delegation at the Panathenaic Stadium. The President of the Hellenic Republic will attend the ceremony.
On Tuesday, April 26, at 19.20 the Olympic Flame will cross the Open Reception Center for refugees in Elaionas where the HOC President Spyros Capralos will pass the Flame to the Syrian refugee Ibrahim Al Hussein, in a symbolic gesture which is meant to show solidarity with the world’s refugees hoping for a better future. Later, the Olympic Flame will arrive in the Acropolis museum where it will stay overnight.
On the 5th day of the torch relay, the Flame departed from Alexandroupoli, then crossed the towns of Komotini, Xanthi, Katerini and arrived in Larissa where it will stay overnight.
