From 09 to 12 November 2023, the Seminar "Empowering Deaf Women" organized by the Federation of the Deaf and hard of hearing of Slovenia and the Federation of Sports of the Deaf of Slovenia was hosted in the alpine village of Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The aim of the seminar was to empower deaf women leaders in the Balkan region to face the challenges arising from the leadership and management of deaf-hard of hearing organizations in their countries of origin. A total of 8 countries participated with 18 representatives from both the National Deaf Federations and the Deaf Sports Federations.
Our country was represented by Mrs. Isari Sofia, President of the European Union of the Deaf (EUD) and Mrs. Kyfonidou Maria, Gen. Secretary of the Federation of the Deaf of Greece (OMKE).
Present at the seminar was the first woman elected President of the European Federation of Sport for the Deaf (EDSO) in the past, Isabelle Malaurie.
