The Award Ceremony of the A. G. Leventis Foundation Olympic Preparation Scholarships in Cyprus has been completed

On Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Olympic Palace of Cyprus, the Award Ceremony of the Olympic Preparation Scholarships of the A. G. Leventis Foundation took place, in the presence of the HOC President Spyros Kapralos and the Secretary General Manolis Kolymbadis.
At the beginning of the ceremony, a one-minute silence was observed for the victims of the tragic train accident in Tempi.
The athletic scholarship program of the A.G. Leventis Foundation is an institution established in 1999 and aims to support athletes who train in order to ensure participation and eventually take part in the Olympic Games. This year, for the first time, the Cyprus Olympic Committee, together with the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, is contributing to this effort. This year, Olympic Preparation Scholarships were awarded for athletic distinctions recorded in the year 2022. During the ceremony, the names of all 68 laureates of the program that honor the Greek and Cypriot colors were read, and then the Scholarships were awarded to the nine Cypriot athletes who are: Georgios Balartzisvili (Judo), Kalia Antoniou (Swimming), Nikolas Antoniou (Swimming), Marilena Makri (Sailing), Andri Christoforou (Cycling), Alexandros Zisimidis (Rowing), Stefanos Nikolaidis (Shooting), Konstantina Nicolaou (Shooting) and Dimitris Konstantinou (Shooting).
