With pomp the inauguration of the renewed International Olympic Academy!

The inauguration of the renovated facilities of the International Olympic Academy took place on Sunday, October 17, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The ribbon was cut by the IOA's President Isidoros Kouvelos, the IOC's President Thomas Bach and the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and President of the European Olympic Committees Spyros Capralos.
The brilliant event was also attended by the Vice-Presidents of the IOC Zaiqing Yu, Ser Miang NG, John Coates, Nicole Hoevertsz, the members of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, the Mayor of Ancient Olympia George Georgiopoulos and many other personalities of the athletic and Olympic family.
The renovation includes new functional rooms, new restaurant and teaching rooms, new sports facilities, replacement of all underground and surface water supply and sewerage systems with biological cleaning facilities, without interference with the external appearance of the premises that maintained their historic and original appearance.
