The Paralympians promote the campaign for the road safety

Germany’s Paralympic and world long jump T42 champion Vanessa Low was in Paris, France, earlier this month for the launch of the first worldwide outdoor campaign on road safety. Low is one of a number of big-name ambassadors participating in the campaign which was launched in the French capital by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body for world motor sport, and advertising giants JCDecaux.

The campaign promotes simple and universal messages to save lives on roads. Road crashes are responsible for 3,500 deaths a day worldwide. Low is one of 13 ambassadors involved – sporting heroes such as Olympic champions Yohan Blake, Wayde van Niekerk, Haile Gebrselassie; French footballer Antoine Griezmann; tennis star Rafael Nadal, and Formula One greats Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa and Nico Rosberg also backed the campaign. The #3500LIVES campaign, translated in to 30 languages, is set to be rolled out to more than 70 countries by the end of 2017, with images of each of the ambassadors going global.
