The Hellenic Olympic Committee together with the Municipality of Piraeus and METAdrasi proceeded to a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the "Together in Sport – Phase II" program, with the Mayor of Piraeus Yiannis Moralis and the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos signing the relevant Memorandum.
In this way, the Municipality of Piraeus, following a decision of the Municipal Council by a large majority, participates and contributes substantially to this important effort that aims to bring together refugee children and children of the local community of Piraeus through the sports and cultural activities of the program, to train employees of the public and private sector on child protection issues, to carry out actions, open to the public, on issues of concern to society such as climate change, safe internet browsing, gender-based violence, etc.
"Together in Sport – Phase II" is implemented by METAdrasi as a project coordinator in collaboration with the Hellenic Olympic Committee and with the support of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and is co-funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees of Germany and the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Planning and Sustainable Development and SEMP President Dimitris Karydis, METAdrasi's Project Manager Konstantinos Bazas and the Project Coordinator from the Hellenic Olympic Committee Georgia Papathanasiou.
