In his first participation in the Paralympic Games, Athanasios Prodromou not only managed to win a medal, but also to make world public opinion bow to his ethos. The Greek athlete "threw" at 7.17 m in the final of the long jump T20 and celebrated the silver medal. He started athletics at the age of 14, when his coach, Anestis Mandartzidis, believed in his talent. The relationship they have developed over the years is like father to son. And Athanasios was very sorry that he did not manage to have him by his side in Tokyo. But he vindicated him by winning the medal.
