Start for the Swimming Camp for young athletes with disabilities

Within the framework of the European program Erasmus "See You", the Greek Paralympic Committee is organizing on 11/2 and 12/2 a Camp for the Swimming pool of young people (athletes) with disabilities, which will be held at the Aquatics Center of OAKA. In the program "See You" participate the Greek Paralympic Committee with main coordinator the Croatian Paralympic Committee, but also the participation of 6 other partners (European Paralympic Committee - European Agency, Paralympic Committee of Serbia - SERBIA, Spin Sports Innovation - Germany, Bulgarian Sports Development Association - Bulgaria, Sport and Citizenship - France).

The action has no competitive character and aims to inform young athletes with disabilities about the benefits arising from their participation in swimming and sports in general.

During the camp, young athletes and young athletes will have the opportunity to talk and be trained by well-known Paralympic champions, to train and learn the benefits of participation in Paralympic sports, the factors that lead to athletic success, but also the role that sport can have in their social empowerment and integration. There will also be presentations on topics related to Paralympic Swimming and Paralympic sports in general, both to young athletes, as well as to their coaches and escorts.

The programme will include the following:

1. Practical training at the Aquatics Center of OAKA.

2. Theoretical part: Workshops with 5 modules for the participants, their coaches and / or their escorts.

3. Cultural part: Visit to the Olympic Museum.
