Stelios Kyriakides' historical trophy adorns the Olympic Museum of Cyprus

A historical relic of our sports history is included and now adorns the collection of the Olympic Museum at the Olympic Palace. Following his decision, Dimitris Stelios Kyriakides offered to the JIT the historic cup that the Cypriot community of Detroit Michigan awarded to Stelios Kyriakides immediately after his victory in the Boston Marathon in 1946. He adds to all the other relics of Stelios Kyriakides' collection that adorn the Museum of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, such as the shirt with the marker number 77, and the shoes he wore on the way to victory in Boston.
The historic Cup was delivered to the President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, Georgios Chrysostomou, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Culture and Youth, Prodromos Prodromos, and the President of the International Olympic Academy Isidoros Kouvelos, during the opening ceremony of the 32nd Session of the National Olympic Academy of Cyprus, which took place on December 10th.
