In Athens, the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committees

In 2021 Athens will become the focus of the global Olympic and Sports movement. From 23 to 25 October, the 25th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) will be hosted, with representatives of the 206 National Olympic Committees around the world discussing and taking important decisions for the future.

The decision to hold the General Assembly in Athens was taken during the Board of Directors of the Association of National Olympic Committees held in Tokyo, following a proposal jointly submitted by the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sport. The last time it was held in Greece was 17 years ago, at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. The GENERAL Assembly of ANOC is another major event of the Olympic family to be held this year in Greece, following the 1st visit of IOC President Thomas Bach, following his re-election, for the opening of the new lighting of the Panathinaikos Stadium as well as the General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees, which followed.
