On Friday, April 23rd, the Department of Sports Excellence – Sports Excellence, which operates under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopaedic Surgery Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (KPISN), presents the discussion on "Olympic Games 2021", in a live broadcast from the Book Tower.
The debate will examine the challenges facing countries on their way to achieving such a major project, as well as the extent to which the upcoming Olympic Games are safe in terms of how they are conducted. In addition, the symbolic dimensions that accompany the Olympic ideals and whether they are in crisis will be discussed. Can the Olympic flame remain the timeless symbol of light, spirit and knowledge? Is Greece, as the birthplace of the Olympic Games, in line with the institutional developments taking place in world sport?
