Proposal for Ancient Olympia to host the Institute of Sports Executive Training

A comprehensive proposal for the hosting in Ancient Olympia of the administrative headquarters and teaching spaces of the Institute of Sports Executive Training was submitted to the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport, Lefteris Avgenakis, the Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, and the Mayor of Ancient Olympia, George Georgiopoulos, with the support of the Deputies of Ilia of SW, the former Minister Costas Tzavaras and Dionysia Avgerinopoulou and Andreas Nikolakopoulos. The establishment of the Institute for the Training of Sports Executives in FGM is part of the 13 initiatives announced by Mr Avgenakis on 15 February to identify, combat and disappear sexual violence and abuse, as well as to tackle maladministration, mismanagement, corruption and abuse of power.

The Institute of Sports Executive Training, in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions, the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, will be an ongoing training institution for amateur sports executives. Its aim is to train those involved in administration, in order to acquire additional knowledge and appropriate training of "good governance", strategic planning and sports management, financial management, techniques of attracting revenue and sponsorships, etc.
