The 2nd China International Forum for Olympic Education, under the theme “Physical Education, Aesthetic Education and Olympic Education”, took place on 10th December, at the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Exhibition Centre as well as on an online platform, hosting international participants and guests from the International Olympic Academy represented by Prof. Konstantinos Georgiadis, IOA Dean, Prof. Dionyssis Gangas, IOA’s Development Projects Consultant, Ms Alexandra Karaiskou, NOAs Relations and four National Olympic Academies form Argentina, France, Japan and Senegal.
The International Forum was organized by the Beijing 2022 Olympic Education Special Working Group and the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Expo, supported by the International Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Chinese Olympic Committee and hosted by the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage, the International Olympic Academy, the Dept. Of Media and Communications, Beijing 2022 and the Samaranch Foundation. Among the interesting speeches by many Key figures of the Olympic Movement, such as the IOC Vice-President, Mr Zaiqing Yu, focusing on the education of the whole being, there were also thoughtful presentations by the IOA President, Mr Isidoros Kouvelos, Prof. Konstantinos Georgiadis and Prof. Dionyssis Gangas. Moreover, Prof. Silvia Dalotto, NOA Director of Argentina, Prof. Arnaud Richard, NOA President of France, Ms Cecile Faye, NOA Director of Senegal and Ms Wakako Yuki, NOA Member of Japan have introduced the experience of Olympic Education in their countries and the remarkable work being made through the NOAs.
