At Panathenaic Stadium lit by the rays of the sun, the Flame for Gangwon Youth Winter Olympic Games 2024 to be held in the Korean city from January 19 to February 1, 2024.
The Flame was lit in the hands of the High Priestess Xanthi Georgiou and then delivered by the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and member of the IOC, Spyros Kapralo, to the President of the Organising Committee "Gangwon 2024", Mr. Jin Jongoh.
It was preceded by the Torch Relay inside the Panathenaic Stadium, with the first Torch runner being the cross-country ski champion Maria Bellis, then the figure skating champion Yungyeom Kim, the alpine skiing champion Apostolos Vougioukas and finally the ski champion Shin-Ee Yun. This was followed by a ritual by the Priestesses inspired by the Choreographer Artemis Ignatiou with his musical composition Dimitris Papadimitriou and the President of the HOC Olympic Torch Relay Committee Thanassis Vassiliadis have overall coordination. The costumes of the Priestesses were created by the famous designer Eleni Kyriacou.
