Renewal of a Cooperation Agreement for the promotion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

The Embassy of France in Greece, the French Institute of Greece, the Hellenic Olympic Committee (NOC), and the National Olympic Academy (ETHNOA) will sign, on November 3, 2022, the renewal of the Cooperation Agreement for the promotion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the promotion of the Greek Olympic cultural heritage and the promotion of the French language.

The signing of this new Cooperation Agreement will provide the opportunity to refer to the continuation of the project "The 2004 generation in Greece on the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games".

We remind you that this program, co-organized by the Embassy of France in Greece / French Institute of Greece, the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy, was established with the signing of the previous Cooperation Agreement, which took place in December 2018 and aims to promote the values of Olympism, the spirit of mutual help, tolerance of integration and Francophonie.

The partnership between the above bodies also aims to encourage the specialized dialogue between Greek and French experts in Olympism and the development of European volunteerism, in accordance with the Olympic spirit bequeathed by Dimitrios Vikelas and Pierre de Coubertin.

The areas of cooperation defined by the renewed Cooperation Agreement are as follows:

 Exchange of expertise for the implementation of joint projects, actions and events aimed at jointly promoting the Olympic Movement, its values and the Francophonie.

 Mobilization of specific actors (associations, private entities) of each Party for the benefit of the actions implemented jointly.

 Support for the projects of each of the Parties, in relation to Olympism, with the promotion of Olympic and Paralympic sport, the Olympic spirit and the Francophonie:
– By providing high institutional support, to projects carried out jointly or by one of the two parties.
– With the free availability of spaces (amphitheater / classes, etc.).

 Participation in bilateral or international projects proposed by French or Greek institutions, in favor of promoting Olympism and Francophonie among students in France and Greece and allowing to enhance exchanges between schools.

Indicatively, we mention as examples the following actions for the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation
