The gold medal in the Olympic arc of the European Archery Championship hosted in Rome will be claimed on Saturday, August 6, by Dorothea Poimenidou. The 4th Paralympic champion in Tokyo, booked a place for the final of the event, after excellent performances and sensational duels in quarterfinals and semifinals. In the eight-team match, she defeated Britain's Taylor Hazel 6-5, while qualifying for the final after the 6-4 win over Milena Olzewska of Poland.
Next Saturday, at 17:25, Poimenidou (No-6 in the World Rankings) will claim the gold medal against Italy's Elisabetta Minio, whom she had won in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Paralympics.
Poimenidou in the qualifying round, had a performance of 599 (301 + 298) that had brought her to third place, which allowed her to take bye in the round of 16.
