Cooperation Agreement between the European Olympic Committees and the European Commission

The European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, and the President of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), Spyros Capralos, signed a Cooperation Agreement in Brussels.
The European Commission adopted the Cooperation Agreement in January 2022 and its main objective is to promote the basic principles and core values of the European Sports Model, including tolerance, equality, respect and solidarity. It will also help to preserve and improve the way sport is organised in Europe.
This Cooperation Pact will promote youth exchanges and culture among EU citizens and will strengthen cooperation in areas of long-term interest to sport in Europe, such as sustainability, gender equality, non-discrimination, good governance, participation of sportspeople, integrity.
