A basketball game for all will take place at the Greek National Opera as part of the SNF Nostos of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) on June 23 at 17:15, with admission free. SNF Nostos of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) presents a basketball game unlike any match you've seen before. It will not take place in a basketball court, but at the Greek National Opera (GNO). Some may take the lead in scoring but no one will be a loser. Because in this fight for equality in sports, between Special Olympics athletes, deaf athletes and basketball champions, we will all be together.
Sport challenges us and helps us all overcome our prejudices. In collaboration with non-profit organizations "Stadium of Life" and Special Olympics an inclusive basketball game is being organised that will make us review prejudices about disability, highlight the importance of social inclusion and help change the way we think.
After the completion of the match, a short discussion will follow with the public, with the participation of the legendary basketball player, coach and CEO of the non-profit organization "Stadium of Life", Panagiotis Giannakakis, the Executive Director of the "Stadium of Life" Dimitris Giannakakis, and David Evangelista, Regional Director and CEO of special Olympics, in Europe and Eurasia.
