Donation of Olympic Skiing by Maria Danou to Lausanne!

In a ceremony held at the Olympic Museum of Lausanne, Maria Danou donated the Olympic skis she competed in free technique at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, in her second Olympic participation.
Danou, who is also a member of the HOC Athletes' Committee, said: "It is a great honour and I am very proud to contribute my skis to the Olympic heritage. My skis will be on display next to other Olympic relics of world sport at the end of August where the section with exhibits from Beijing 2022 will open. I wish my Olympic route as a three-time Olympian in endurance skiing always following dual career to inspire the new generation that will visit the museum. Sport harmoniously combines the virtues of body and soul as well as supports the effort, perseverance, determination and harmonious development of man. Regardless of the results at the finish line we are all winners. I am very happy that the visitors of the museum of Lausanne will be informed about the Greek evolution of endurance skiing."
Present at the equipment handover ceremony were the Timor-Leste mission and the Chinese woman Zhang Hong, an Olympic member of the I.O.C. Athletes' Committee.
