Authentic medal of Stelios Kyriakides at the Cyprus Olympic Committee

In a short and modest ceremony, through which the greatness of his athletic career and social contribution was highlighted, the authentic medal of Stelios Kyriakides was delivered to the Cyprus Olympic Committee, with which he was honored for his victory in the Boston marathon in 1946.

The medal was delivered by the son of the late athlete, Mr. Dimitris Kyriakides, to the President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee Georgios Chrysostomou, along with his wedding rings, and three books signed by Stelios Kyriakides. During the recent session of the National Olympic Academy of Cyprus, Dimitris Kyriakides also donated the Cup donated by the Expatriates of the state of Detroit-Michigan to Kyriakides, after his victory in Boston. The cup is already exhibited for the public in an impressive showcase, while in the Museum of the JIT, the jersey and shoes worn by the athlete during the Marathon are also kept.
