The curtain fell on Rhodes, the curtain of the 16th Chess Olympiad for the Blind and Partially Seeing, which was co-organized by the World Chess Federation of the Blind (IBCA), the National Athletic Federation of People with Disabilities and was held under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Sports, the Chess Club of Rhodes "Knight", the South Aegean Region and the DOPAR of the Municipality of Rhodes.
Champion Team in the Olympic Games for the Blind in Chess was Russia with 18 points and undefeated (9 matches 2 points the victory 1 the draw 0 the defeat), second Poland with 14 points as well as the Third Serbia. It was followed by Germany with 11, Romania 11, Ukraine 10, Spain 10, India 9,Hugaria 9, Bulgaria 9, North Macedonia 9, Sweden 9, Italy 9, Slovenia 9, France 9, Lithuania 8 Israel 8, Croatia 8, Finland 5, Kosovo 4, Greece 3, Canada – Quebec 2.
The Greek team consisted of Klimis Laertis (Thunderbolt), Filippos Boudalakis (PETA), Dimitrios Dovas (Pegasus), Alexios Manayas (Pegasus) and Thanasis Samiakos (Torch), while the coach of the team was Alexandros Benatsis.
