After many months of inactivity due to the pandemic to Kallimarmaro was again filled with children's voices and smiles as the European Program 'Kids Love Sports', implemented by the Hellenic Olympic Committee with the co-funding of the European Union and addressed to refugee children hosted in open structures in Attica, began.
The program began with the participation of 50 children from the Ritsona accommodation center and included a guided tour of the Stadium where the children learned important information about this historic monument of Athens and about Olympic sports, sports activities under the guidance of experienced coaches and Olympic champions and awarding medals as a reward for their effort.
The children had the opportunity to learn a lot about an important part of the culture of the country that hosts them, to be initiated into the Olympic sports of track and field, to understand the benefits of sports to human health, but also to spend a pleasant day filled with action and play, escaping from the confinement and isolation they experience in their everyday life.
