"Black" day for the Greek Paralympic Sport today. The family of the sport of people with disabilities, mourns the death of a true worker. One of its executives, who over the last 20 years, has helped greatly for the development of the Paralympic Movement in our country.
Giorgos Foudoulakis, formerly president of the National Sports Federation of Persons with Disabilities (2008-2021), and until last October, president of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee (2010-2020), lost today the "battle" with the crown at the age of 73.
Giorgos Foudoulakis was a man who had dedicated his life to the sport of people with disabilities. His action to spread the Paralympic Movement in Greece was enormous. For this action, he was awarded the Paralympic Order Medal of the International Paralympic Committee (the IPC honors those persons who promote Paralympic ideals through their actions, while offering excellent services to Paralympic sport), by the presidency of the Hellenic Republic, the Government of Greece and many other sports bodies and not only, in Greece and abroad.
He was head of the Greek mission at the Paralympic Games in Athens 2004, London 2012 and Rio 2016, while he was deputy leader at the Sydney Games
