A wheelchair was donated yesterday to the Panhellenic Association of Paraplegics, the Environmental Group of the University of Macedonia. This is the third wheelchair donated since the start of the "Keep on moving" plastic cap collection program and each wheelchair donated corresponds to the collection of one ton of plastic caps!
The delivery of the car took place in the office of the Deputy Mayor of Social Policy of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Charis Aedonopoulos, as the municipality of Thessaloniki is now "running" the program "Keep on moving", originally started by the group "Thessaloniki next2U". The wheelchair was received by the President of the Panhellenic Association of Paraplegics (Annex of Macedonia – Thrace), Giorgos Avgoustidis. The collection programme began in December 2015 as part of the extensive recycling programme under way at the University of Macedonia. Over the next few years, a wheelchair was given to the Hippocratic Hospital, one to AHEPA and, yesterday, one to the Paraplegic Association.
