Refugee support programme by the Hellenic Olympic Committee

The European Union accepted the Proposal of the Hellenic Olympic Committee for the implementation of a programme for the social integration of refugees through sport.

The EEE submitted a proposal for the funded programme entitled "Sport as a tool for the integration and social integration of refugees" and concerns the participation of children from refugee accommodation centres in the wider area of Attica, in the programme "Kids' Athletics – I Love Sport" which takes place at the Panathinaikos Stadium.

With the implementation of the program, once a week 50 refugee children will go to the Panathinaikos Stadium, learn its history and know the secrets of popular sports, from the Olympians and champions participating in the "Kids' Athletics – I love Sport".

The aim is for the two years of implementation of the program, 4000 children to visit the Panathinaikos Stadium through the program and to love sport.
