Visit of the Greek Deputy Minister of Sport to the Cyprus Olympic Committee

Greek Deputy Minister of Sport Lefteris Avgenakis, the Olympic Palace, met with the President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee Dino Michaelides as part of an official visit to Cyprus. Mr. Avgenakis was accompanied to the Olympic Palace by the Counsellor of Embassy A, the Embassy of Greece in Cyprus Evryklia Panagiotou and the Adviser of the Deputy Minister Nikolaos Kereres. Also present were OSO, Secretary General Charalambos Lotta, Treasurer DamianOs Hatzidamianos, Executive Board Members Kalli Hatziosov and George Papageorgiou and Director General Olga Piperidou.

Welcoming Mr. Avgenakis to the Olympic Palace, the President of the YC expressed his joy at his presence at the House of Sport in Cyprus where all the Federations are housed, and referred to the indestructible ties, national, religious and especially to the sportsmen who connect the two countries, noting that through sport Cypriot Hellenism found a way out of expression in very difficult times for our country. At the same time, he referred to the relations between the Cyprus-Greek Sports Federations and the participations of Cypriot athletes with Greek colors in Olympic Games and other major events.
