The International Session of National Olympic Academies in Ancient Olympia

The works of the 13th Joint International Session for Presidents or Directors of National Olympic Academies and Officials of National Olympic Committees have commenced at the premises of the International Olympic Academy in Ancient Olympia.

The IOA President, Isidoros Kouvelos, declared the opening of the works, in presence of the Mayor of Ancient Olympia Efthimis Kotzas, and the main subject of the session is: “Olympism as an effective tool for development and sustainability” while the special subject is: “Olympic education as a tool for development and sustainability”. The session will be concluded by the 14th of May and in total 103 people from 80 countries are participating. After the opening ceremony, the participants visited the stele of Baron Pierre de Coubertin and honored the man who inspired the revival of the Olympic Games.
