New leadership for the Canadian Olympic Committee

Olympic medalist and lawyer Tricia Smith has been voted president of the Canadian Olympic Committee. The four- time Olympic rower had been vice president of the Canadian Olympic Committee since 2009.

The vote took place in Montreal on Sunday with board members choosing between Smith and award winning high performance coach and lawyer Peter Lawless, who will continue to serve the organization as vice president.
