Greek Olympic champion George Roubanis passed away

It is with great sadness that the Hellenic Olympic Committee bids farewell to the top Olympic champion George Roubanis who passed away at the age of 95.

George Roubanis, who was the oldest Olympic champion, won the bronze medal at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne in the pole vault, with a performance of 4.50, after a marathon race that lasted about 11 hours.
