After the wonderful event "Athens 20 years later» at the Panathenaic Stadium, the Hellenic Olympic Committee organizes the conference entitled: "20 Years Later – The Footprint of the Games", the Monday 30 September 2024, from 12:00 to 16:00, at the Amphitheater of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum (Vasileos Konstantinou 50, Athens).
The workshop aims to highlight the significant benefits and opportunities for sustainable development offered by the Olympic Games to a host city—locally, nationally and internationally, in both the short and long term.
The workshop will explore how the true legacy of the Olympic Games extends far beyond physical infrastructure. The benefits for a host country aren't just about using stadiums and buildings—they're about creating attitudes towards a healthier and more resilient lifestyle. They are about promoting a sustainable culture, bridging cultures, achieving common goals and investing in education and sporting excellence. Through these discussions, the aim is to highlight the deep and lasting impact of the Olympic Games on a nation.
