Silver medal in Paralympic swimming by Antonis Tsapatakis


The seventh medal of Greece (the 3rd silver) and first in swimming was given by Antonis Tsapatakis. In the final of the 100m breaststroke SB4 and with a time of 1:36.16 he climbed to the 2nd step of the podium, winning the silver medal, at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
In Tokyo, three years ago at the Paralympic Games he had swam in the final in 1:40.20 and after two 4th places in London in 2012 and Rio in 2016, he won the bronze medal.
In Paris he climbed another step. In the morning in the heat, he finished with the 2nd best time of 1:37.00 behind the 24-year-old Russian (swims as a neutral) Dmitry Chernyaev (1:33.91) who is also the world record holder with 1:31.96 and won the gold medal with a time of 1:32.20. The bronze was won by Italy's Manuele Bortuso with a time of 1:42.52.
