In the second round, Sakkari
Maria Sakkari defeated Danka Kovinic of Montenegro 6-0, 6-1 to easily qualify for the round of 32 of the Olympic Games in Paris. "I think we know how difficult the first rounds are with so much tennis that we've seen. The Olympic Games are a little different. I was very nervous, we represent our country. The atmosphere was amazing, the weather did us a favor and the premiere was ideal. We keep going, we want to stay here as long as possible. There's a goal in the back of my mind and that's where I want to focus. It is a very difficult tournament, but I will listen to my heart and... We're going strong. I've noticed that when I look below on the dashboard it doesn't go very well for me, so I turned it around somewhat. I look at match by match. I have an idea who is on my side, but I don't want to think about it. I have both mixed and doubles, which need separate concentration. I'm fine, I'm very happy to live this experience again, I appreciate it and enjoy it, it's something very special that no one can describe unless they live it," Sakkari said.
Qualification for Tsitsipas
Stefanos Tsitsipas struggled against Belgium's Zizou Berchs, but eventually won 2-1 sets and booked his ticket to the next stage (7-6, 1-6, 6-1).
In the next phase he will face the Briton, Daniel Evans (No. 59 in the world).
