2nd Athletics Conference for People with Disabilities-"Elpida 2024": One world, three European and similar national records at Kaftantzoglio
With a world record, which is European and national, by Giannis Sevdikalis and even European and Panhellenic, by Keramidas and Tzounis, but also a very good performance by Michael Seitis in the 200m. The 2nd Athletics Conference for People with Disabilities-"Elpida 2024" was completed (Monday, 3/6). The conference is organized by the "Elpida Thessaloniki" Disabled People's Association and is under the auspices of EAOM-People with Disabilities and EPE.
One day after the completion of the Panhellenic Para-Athletics Championship, in the same stadium the performance continued to be excellent.
The event ended with a triple record, world, European and national in the F62 discus, by Giannis Sevdikalis with a throw of 29.86m, beating his old one with 29.79m, which he had scored on 25/5/23, in Schimatari.
The good day from the morning showed, as Tania Keramida, in the F56 Women's Disc, with a throw of 24.89m, set a new European record, while improving the national record she had achieved a few hours before in the same stadium. The old European belongs to the German Martina Willing with 24.23m, from 23/7/23, in Lyon.
The second European record came again in the Discus but in the men's F56, with Konstantinos Tzounis scoring a throw of 43.65m, improving his own 42.86m, from 30/8/21, in Tokyo.
To these records are added two more national records in the women's T12 length, of Dimitra Dialechti Messini with a jump of 4.90m., improving her own 4.75m., from 22/4/23, in Thessaloniki.
Panhellenic record by George Karniavouras, in Korina F51 men, with a throw of 27.66m., improving his old one with 27.18m., from 11/7/21, in Thessaloniki.
At 200m. Men's T64, Michael Seitis finished in 22.97, improving his position in high performance, in the ranking list for Paris.
