The Youth Winter Olympic Games have begun!

The Youth Olympic Winter Games kicked off in Gangwon, South Korea with a spectacular Opening Ceremony.

Greece entered first in the Opening Ceremony, as is traditionally the case in the Olympic Games with Flagbearers Apostolos Vougioukas and Maria Dimitra Tsiarkas.

IOC President Thomas Bach called on the President of the Republic of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, to open the 2024 Youth Olympic Winter Games and then lit the flame, while a "digital altar" located outside the venue at the Gangneung Olympic Park was also lit simultaneously, with a virtual LED Flame.
