The first visit of the new Mayor of Ancient Olympia to the HOC

A ceremonial meeting at the Hellenic Olympic Committee was held by the newly elected Mayor of Ancient Olympia, Aris Panagiotopoulos.

He was welcomed by Secretary General Manolis Kolymbadis, along with the President of the HOC Olympic Preparation Committee, Thanasis Vassiliadis.

The focus of the meeting was the Lighting of the Flame for the Paris Olympic Games, to be held in Ancient Olympia on April 16, 2024.

The two sides stressed the close cooperation that must exist from now on, for the most complete organization of the Lighting Ceremony and the Torch Relay that will start from Ancient Olympia and which will advertise Greece around the world.

At the end of the meeting, the Secretary General of the HOC, Manolis Kolimbadis, offered a commemorative gift to Mr. Aris Panagiotopoulos.
