Alexandros Nikolaidis' medal from the 2004 Olympic Games at the Athens Olympic Museum

At the Athens Olympic Museum, his family handed over his medal Alexandros Nikolaidis since the 2004 Games. The donation made by his wife, Dora Tsampazi, was placed in the specially designed showcase created in the "Athens 2004" hall, as a tribute to his achievements, next to important memorabilia from the 2004 Olympics, which was a milestone in modern Greek history. The Olympic champion's silver medals, following his touching wish, were auctioned and the proceeds were given to charitable organizations for children.

At the end of the auction, they were returned to his family, who donated his medal from the Athens 2004 Olympiad to the Athens Olympic Museum for five years, so that his visitors could admire it and be inspired by his achievements and ethos. The moving handover event was accompanied by students and teachers.
