Donation by the European Olympic Committees to the earthquake victims in Turkey

The European Olympic Committees (EOC) have confirmed that they will donate a total of €250,000 to help those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey. In agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the NOCs decided to give money from the special activities fund to the Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC) to help the Olympic community and the local population in the areas affected by the natural disaster.
European Olympic Committee President Spyros Capralos said: "We have all been shocked and saddened by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria last Monday. We offered to help our friends in the Turkish Olympic Committee in every way. That's why we decided to transfer money from our special activities fund to help those in the sporting world and beyond affected by the disaster."
