The President of the HOC and the European Olympic Committees Spyros Capralos, who will announce the opening of the works at noon on Friday, stated: "The Hellenic Olympic Committee welcomes with joy and emotion the European Olympic Family in Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. This is a special opportunity for all representatives of the European Olympic Committees to meet for the first time in the renewed IOA facilities that are the highest symbolism for the Olympic Movement."
