The European Olympic Committees (NAIS) stand in solidarity with Ukraine and fully support the declaration and all the proposed actions issued by the International Olympic Committee on Monday.
Therefore, after consulting the Organizing Committee of Vuokatti 2022 and all relevant stakeholders, and taking into account the decisions taken by the participating International Federations, the European Olympic Committees reached the following decision:
Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials will not participate in the upcoming 2022 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) to be held in Vuokatti, Finland, from March 20 to 25.
In order to preserve the integrity of young athletes, as well as the organization, THE NAIS believe that Russian and Belarusian athletes should not compete in Vuokatti in any capacity.
