The General Assembly of the National Olympic Committees begins in Crete

Representatives of the National Olympic Committees (NOC) began arriving in Crete, ahead of the first hybrid General Assembly of the ANOC, which will be attended by 75% of the 205 National Olympic Committees, while the rest of the committees will participate online.
Participants arrived at Creta Maris Beach Resort, the venue of both the 25th ANOC General Assembly and the award ceremony for the best Athletes worldwide, ANOC Awards 2021. The Executive Board of ANOC will meet tomorrow (23 October), before the start of the two-day General Meeting on 24 and 25 October. On the evening of October 24, anOC's award ceremony for the outstanding performance of athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will take place.
It is the first time during the last two years that the World's National Olympic Committees have come together to discuss common challenges to the Olympic Movement and future opportunities. The main items on the agenda will include an update on the nomination process for the ANOC World Beach Games, a presentation of anoc's strategic plan, as well as reports from the ANOC Committees and the Organizing Committees of the Olympic Games.
