Thomas Bach was re-elected on Wednesday for another four years as president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which he has led since 2013. The German player renewed his mandate more than four months before the Tokyo Summer Olympics, which have been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 67-year-old Bavarian was re-elected almost unanimously, with 93 votes in favour and one against, while four IOC members abstained at the 137th session originally scheduled to take place in Athens and was eventually held via teleconference due to the coronoid.
