The new building of Katerini Child Care Foundation of Merimna

Another important step of Katerini Child Care, as the operation of three Supported Living Roofs began in a privately owned building on 11 Nefelis Street in Katerini. Each of the roofs accommodates four disabled people (a total capacity of 12) under the supervision of an interdisciplinary team and special caregivers on a 24-hour basis.

This effort was launched in 2012 under an NSRF programme in cooperation with the Municipality of Katerini. Supported Living Roofs (SYDs) are permanent residence structures for people aged 18 years and over, with mental retardation (and possibly secondary conditions) of partially self-service or even lifelong supported by qualified personnel.
